disclosure.

/ the short version

some links on alaia eden are partner referrals. when a reader books or applies through one, we may earn a small commission — never at extra cost to the reader. we only list what we'd take ourselves; nothing here is paid placement.

“the recommendation comes first. the link comes second. if those two ever swap order, we have written something we wouldn't read.”

what we link.

alaia eden partners with a small set of providers we already use. each falls into one of five categories you'll see tagged on every guide:

  • staybooking.com, hotels.com, and direct hotel programs. we link to the same room rate you'd find searching cold.
  • flyexpedia for the live alerts on the cities page, plus going (née scott's cheap flights) and skyscanner.
  • dogetyourguide, viator, withlocals. tours and tickets only when skipping the line is the point.
  • grounddiscover cars, rentalcars.com. car rentals when public transit doesn't reach.
  • cardscredit-card welcome offers via the issuer's own affiliate channel. opinions on the offers page are ours, not the issuer's.

what we won't.

  • sponsored slotsno “featured” placements that bury better options for a higher commission.
  • private datawe don't sell newsletter lists or onboard third-party trackers beyond standard analytics.
  • ai-written guidesevery guide is written by a human who has actually been to the place. drafts may be cleaned up; voice and recommendations are not.

how live alerts work.

the live alerts on the cities page are fares we track and publish ourselves, refreshed every few hours. each card's booking link opens a live expedia search on the example dates shown and carries our referral code (rel="sponsored"). prices move — verify before you book.

how to opt out.

every affiliate link on alaia eden carries the html attribute rel="sponsored". modern browser extensions can intercept and strip the partner code if you'd rather we not earn a referral on a given booking — we still recommend the link.
